EnviRN Program on Reproductive Health and the Environment (PRHE) The Program on Reproductive Health and the Environment (PRHE) is an exciting program newly launched at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine by Dr. Linda Giudice, Chair of the Dept. of Ob-Gyn & Reproductive Sciences. In brief, PRHE's mission is to prevent adverse reproductive, pregnancy, and developmental health impacts, as well as reproductive and hormone-dependent cancers related to environmental exposures through research, education, clinical care, health policy, and advocacy. PRHE's unique focus is on the relationship of contaminant exposures - at low-dose "background" or concentrated levels - and the health of pregnant women, pregnancy outcomes, fetal development, fetal basis of adult disease, fertility compromise, reproductive tract disorders, including endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, uterine fibroids, ovarian failure, and reproductive and hormone-dependent cancers.
