Price: $40.00
ZRT Product Name: FSH
FSH and LH testing for signs of menopause or andropause
Provides an accurate assessment of your follicle stimulation hormone (FSH) levels to provide physicians with more diagnostic clues that could point to possible male and female infertility causes, the onset of andropause and menopause, or PCOS.
Produced by the pituitary gland, FSH measurement can help determine whether male testes or female ovaries are functioning properly.
Symptoms of low FSH level in men:
- Low sperm count
- Early or delayed puberty
In men, FSH helps control the production of sperm. Low FSH in men can account for decreased sperm production and decreased size of the testes in children and adolescents.
Symptoms of abnormal FSH level in women:
- Inability to get pregnant
- Irregular or absent menstrual periods
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
- Menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, foggy thinking, and depression
- Early or delayed puberty
In women, FSH helps control the menstrual cycle and production of eggs by the ovaries. High FSH in women (in combination with low estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone as well as low or normal LH) can be used to determine causes for absent or irregular menstrual periods or the onset of menopause. In addition, the ratio of LH to FSH levels is used to diagnose Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which is closely linked to CardioMetabolic Syndrome.
What does the Canary Club Follicle Stimulation Hormone (FSH) (Blood) test do?
For men, this individual test can be taken alone or in combination with any of our hormone profiles to assist in the diagnosis of low sperm count. For women, this test is done in combination with LH to determine LH:FSH ratio, which can be a good indicator of whether a woman is experiencing PCOS. High FSH is also a marker that (along with declining estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone levels and low to normal LH levels) is used for diagnosing declining ovarian function and menopause.
