ZRT NeuroAdvanced Panel Supplement Suggestions

Urinary Inhibitory Neurotransmitters Overview

Inhibitory Neurotransmitters have inhibitory effects on the neuron.  Generally speaking, if you have lower levels then you are not calming the neurons.  Your nerves tend to stay "excited" causing feelings of anxiety, stress, and fear.

ZRT NeuroAdvanced Profile (without add-ons) assays the levels of six Urinary Inhibitory Neurotransmitters.

Primary

  • Serotonin, generally regarded as the “happiness molecule,” contributes to the feeling of calm and well-being that eases depression and anxiety, supports sleep and decreases appetite.
  • GABA functions as the "off" switch in the brain.  When your levels are normal, it improves mood, relieves anxiety and promotes sleep.

Secondary

  • Glycine plays a dual role as a neurotransmitter and amino acid that serves as a building block to proteins, improves sleep quality, calms aggression, and serves as an anti-inflammatory agent.
  • 5-HIAA, is a breakdown product of serotonin. This test tells how much 5-HIAA the body is producing. It is also a way to measure how much serotonin is in the body.
  • Tryptophan, an essential amino acid that also functions as a neurotransmitter. It is also the parent precursor to both serotonin and melatonin.
  • Taurine, an amino acid that is essential for the health of the brain and body. It protects healthy cells and tissues, can relieve anxiety, and can improve sleep quality.
